NavStar Technologies, Inc. specializing in the provision of tracking solutions for cargo and other assets announced that the field trials have been almost completed for their updated vehicle asset tracker.
NavStar is involved with the production and commercialization of products and services required for tracking and monitoring the location and condition of high value cargo and assets, said company sources.
Rock Hard Systems, Inc. will be the first U.S. distribution partner that will sell the NSTRAK vehicle asset tracker system which is expected to be rolled out in the 3rd quarter of 2010.
According to company sources the main features of the NSTRAK vehicle asset tracker are a 20 Channel GPS receiver, Quad band GSM/GPRS modem, Data Recording, TCP, UDP (News - Alert) and SMS protocol and 50 Geo-Fences.
In a statement issued by the company N. Douglas Pritt, chairman and CEO, NavStar Technologies, Inc. stated, “We are pleased with the trial result this summer on the NSTRAK. With 20,000 units in service around the world we were able to gather customer comments and suggestions as to what features are most critical to their operations and the new NSTAK hardware was designed to incorporate this input.”
“We will continue to support our customers with high quality hardware, customized software, new features, engineering support, and new requirements as they are defined by the US trucking and fleet management industry,” Pritt added.
NavStar Technologies provides GPS related hardware and services in both the consumer and commercial markets to U.S. and international customers. It strives to create products and services that provide tracking and monitoring solutions for equipment and other valuable and personal assets besides vehicles and high value cargo.
According to NavStar sources the merger of Argo Navigation and NavStar Technologies brings together wireless products with similar business strategies while addressing two different market segments. While NavStar delivers affordable hands-free calling voice driven navigation systems, Argo provides GPS products and services that track/monitor vehicles and other valuable assets.
NavStar’s Location Based Services use GPS to provide services based on a user’s location. Also it is expected that GPS products and services will continue to grow at record velocity as hardware prices reduce and new services are added.
