AT&T has said that it’s giving AT&T (News - Alert) U-verse TV customers an easier and faster way to manage their U-verse TV account with the click of their remote control.
The company has introduced U-verse Account Manager, an on-screen app. With this offering, U-verse customers can access to make U-verse TV package upgrades, compare TV packages, view channel lineups, view their account summary, view product overviews and ordering information on U-verse High Speed Internet and U-verse Voice.
Company officials said that if a customer wants to learn more about a TV package or sees a show they want to watch on a channel they are not subscribed to, Account Manager allows them to instantly upgrade their subscription at any time, eliminating the need to make a phone call.
“Our new Account Manager app is one more way we're mobilizing the customer experience across service channels and giving customers more control over their TV experience,” said Jeff Weber (News - Alert), vice president of video services for AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets.
Weber said that Account Manager offers U-verse TV customers a simple self-service option directly from their TV screen. “This app is just one more way AT&T is providing better service and a better TV experience for customers.”
With the exclusive My Multiview app, users can watch four of the favorite channels at one time on ther TV screen, as well as follow their favorite sports teams via the AT&T U-bar by setting up the personalized team, weather, and stock preferences through the AT&T portal with their U-verse High Speed Internet account.
Additionally, U-verse TV customers can also schedule their recordings, download and watch TV shows on qualifying smartphones with U-verse Mobile.
Account Manager is available on channel 9910 and is expected to roll out on a market-by-market basis to all U-verse TV customers at no extra charge.
Earlier this month, AT&T and Sony Ericsson (News - Alert) unveiled the Android (News - Alert) based Xperia X10 smartphone that offers an open and integrated world of communication, entertainment and social media.
